  • We require the services of a highly skilled Data Quality Team Member with Fin-Tech experience to work closely with data owners, users, and data custodians (IT) to ensure the root cause of reported data issues is understood and underlying problems as well as associated symptoms are resolved.
  • The successful candidate will support in developing and implementing Data Quality strategies, portfolio & roadmap.
  • This individual will work on other data related tasks as assigned by the Data Quality Team Lead, Head of Data Governance, and Chief Data Officer.

Key Responsibilities
Overall Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement Data Quality strategies, portfolio & roadmap.
  • Support data quality technical rollouts to program teams from a platform usage & functional coverage standpoint.
  • Support informational training sessions to walkthrough core use cases covered by the applications.
  • Maintain functional use cases on the DQ tools and develop standards of maintaining DQ rules.
  • Ensure data models, data architecture, data mapping and data dictionary are being used to develop DQ rules as applicable
  • Run validation checks and help in formulating dimensional comparisons
  • Work in collaboration with IT and ICSG on standards & capabilities. Provide support on how data governance should address as part of platform maintenance.
  • Communicate regularly with program teams and stewards to make necessary design reviews on the platform as needed.
  • Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data
  • Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects
  • Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
  • Constantly drive the optimization of the bank’s source of record with a focus on maintaining data consistency and promptly resolving conflicts that arise
  • Ensure Bank-wide implementation of an enterprise Data Warehouse with a focus on eradicating redundancy, support insights collection and reporting as well as ensure that the Bank’s data management is accordance with local and international laws.
  • Drive standardization of data integration to promote availability of uniform and reliable data for transaction processing, reporting and analysisIC

Leadership and Teamwork:

  • Coordinate data management requirements, the data governance framework (including standards & guidelines) and high-level data architecture to ensure the successful implementation of the data management strategy
  • Assist with recognizing and upholding digital security systems to protect delicate information.
  • Detail and communicates the data management strategy
  • Develop and deliver trainings and coaching for increasing Data Management within all segments of the Bank.
  • Ensure strong physical data protection controls are in place.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and transparency around data.

Customers / Stakeholders:

  • Engage appropriate stakeholders in ongoing data protection exercise
  • Provide proper training and awareness for staff on data security requirements
  • Work proactively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practices on data matters
  • Manage and own relationships
  • Assist in ensuring requirements coming from multiple areas are aligned and conflicts are resolved effectively
  • Advisory and Consultancy to our stakeholder community on Data Management related matters.
  • Take care of our customers privacy just as take care of their financial wellbeing and customer journey
  • Data Policy principles and align to Group values
  • Provide advisory, execution and governance support as needed in respect of regulation impacting Access Banks data agenda
  • Support regulatory engagement at group level and where necessary in support of subsidiaries.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory Desirable:

  • University Degree and / or professional qualification in an Information Technology related subject and/or project management
  • 1 year of equivalent work experience in the Data Quality field, ideally in the Retail Banking sector
  • Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with advanced SQL scripting and ETL transformation.
  • Good understanding of reporting applications and integrations between Data quality and reporting applications.
  • Strong techno- functional background with ability to understand data quality management and its application to maintaining consistent quality of data across the enterprise for compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to partner with a multi-tiered and matrixed organization model to support complex data programs.
  • IT certification and other professional qualification.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of database construction, management, and retrieval methods.
  • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
  • Good communication skill (Oral & Written)
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to understand platform rollouts for data quality operationalization
  • Strong grasp of DQ design and understanding of modern data architecture as it applies to data quality rollouts.
