About the Project

  • The Nigeria Youth Futures Funds (NYFF) Project is aimed at strengthening and enabling youth leadership and activism in Nigeria through outcomes-driven policy engagements and inclusive resourcing that help youth shape the future long-term development plans of the country.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
Grant Management:

  • Coordinate, in collaboration with the Project lead and other relevant stakeholders all activities relating to the preparation, management, research and review of all grants applications by programme beneficiaries.
  • Establish processes and procedures for the negotiation and award of contracts including grant pre-awards and post-awards actions to meet relevant requirements; Ensure compliance with appropriate federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all proposals and funding activities; effectively manage a large database of beneficiaries; prepare special reports and analyses of the data gathered for this project.
  • Manage all grant related communication, enquiries, queries on the grant giving and reporting process.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Conduct proper monitoring and evaluation for the implementation of grant contracts and awards, ensuring adherence to all terms and conditions of the grant contracts.
  • Create and provide monitoring and evaluation tools to sub grantees.
  • Collaborate with the finance unit to prepare relevant budgets for the programme and financial reports relating to grants administration.
  • Report to and work closely with the NYYF Programmes Lead and the LEAP MERL team in fulfilment of all your job tasks and deliverables.
  • Prepare thematic reports and share regular weekly and monthly reports with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce several research products such as articles, opinion pieces, evaluation reports and learning materials to be distributed across appropriate channels in different formats.
  • Achieve milestones and objectives of the NYFF project.
  • Participate and/or assist in special projects and perform associated administrative duties.
  • Engage in other tasks that may emerge as a result of the growth of the organization and as assigned by your Supervisor
  • Generate insights and recommendations for communicating the impact of the NYFF project.

Requirements
The required candidate should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
  • Experienced in grant administration, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Possess very good interpersonal skills, negotiation skill, sound judgment.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in leading stakeholders meetings.
  • Strong work ethics.
  • Proficient in the use of MS office suite, Google suite, data entry and analysis tools.
  • Performance driven and mission oriented.
  • Self driven and motivated.
  • Aligned with LEAP Africa and partner organizations with youth leadership, activism and social change.
  • Entrepreneurial in nature and proactive.
  • Looking to work in a fast paced project and organisation.
